hookerz, blow and top ten trakz

hey team
apologies for the lack of posting. i went through a week of not listening to any music apart from Calexico's 'Garden Ruin' album and then i blew up my left speaker yesterday. So its back to the old headphones for a few days until i find my toolbox and take it to pieces and find out whats come loose or whatever.
Before i come to 'that music that makes people jerk around on dancefloorz', it has to be said that Garden Ruin is one of the best albums ive ever heard. And i listen to too much music. Its the real deal people. It needs to be bought. And iv just checked and its like 6 bo on http://www.amazon.co.uk/. good stuff.

On to Hookerz N Blow. No, not just a fun way to spend an evening, they are also a kick ass new producers from San Fran, the home of Dirtybird and all the bad ass bass producers like the Martin Brothers, Claude & Worthy to name just a few. Basically i first heard of these guys when they featured in Claude VonStroke's Mixmag top ten about five months ago or so, with the very track that im about to post.
Its kind of a mash up, kind of a remix of The Whistler. Before the collective groans at a) it being a mash up and b) it being a mash up of an old/overplayed track, just give it a listen.
Claude opened with it when i saw him play at the Dirtybird label party in London in July, and its sick as fuck. It features Too $hort for one, and DJ Assault for another, and its well produced and sounds bad ass. The guys also have a track on the new mix Riton did for this months Mixmag, the full title of which is 'The Martin Brothers- Dum (Hookerz N Blow Short Bus Acid remix)' and is no where to be found on the web or anywhere else. I hope they do some kind of dirtybird EP soon as itll go off. HIGHLY recommended.

Other Tings
The resurrection of Tocadisco is quite amazing really, seeing as David Guetta pretty much killed his credibility in one fell swoop with that 'Love Dont Let Me Go' track a while ago. Plus he only got paid like £500 for that remix when Guetta made a shitload. Anyway his recent stuff since Shrine has been really good, in particular his remix of Dirty South's 'The End' and his latest mix of the Sultan track 'Protection'. Good tech with high end production = bomb. The Dirty South mix has ended my last few sets, and manages to get away with using a cheeky Doors sample and not being shit. Impressive.
