I'm So Hood/ Love For A Rose

I will say now that blogger is a piece of fucking shit. Getting heavily tempted with big money transfer to wordpress. I did have a bad ass post praisin Kazey, Bulldog, Khaled Khaled, and Mr. Jesse Rose. Now I have a lot of rage and no urge to rewrite my shit. Good Bmore remix from last year, here.

Worth-EEE and MEEEEEEEEE

Ziggy here again, propping BigBabyWheezus up on his broad, rippling shoulders.
I did a fucking amazing mix a few days ago that will be posted at some point this week, i just need to do a slight edit at the end of it and it shall be upped.
I've been listening to a combination of Dennis Wilson, Brodinski and the subject of todays post, Worthy.

I just downloaded his latest mix, in fact it is the first mix i have by him, and it is predictably awesome. Kind of a mix of more chilled tech-house and his usual madcap wonky fare, it is all kinds of good and an easy choice to recommend. It is called the 'stationary grape' mix and its available for download on the anabatic records website here

Seeing as i spent a day procrastinating and trying to get a crobat, the mix is now edited and ready. I am extremely happy with it as the previous expletive shows, and from now on it will probably be my calling card. until i get bored of all the songs and catch up with wobzin in teknikal ability that is.

i heard she broke your heart, again

I just heard the latest remix by Kris Menace, and was honestly so impressed i decided that i needed to post it immediately along with an attempt at an explanation as to its greatness.
For a long time i have been very much 'eh' when it came to kris menace. he seemed to do it a lot of remixes, and along with lifelike, braxe and falke and the remaining french touch mafia slowly drifted into the maximalist synth led 'blog house' realm. Just type Lifelike in on hype machine and you'll catch my drift.
But a lot of these remixes were tired twists on an obvious formula, endless reminisces of 'Lumberjack' and 'Discopolis' via remixes of wet behind the ears producers so eager for the name recognition that these stalwarts brought with them that they would happily accept something that sounded well below average.
BUT.
I am very pleased to say that Kris Menace, with his latest remix, has perfected his sound, and found the yearning voice that slots together perfectly with his spiralling french touch synths and makes them sound real, rather than tawdry imitations. The song packs an emotional punch, yet remains well produced enough for most dancefloors.

The track in question is the Kris Menace remix of Metronomy's Heartbreaker, and it is fucking amazing. I kind of needed to swear to balance out all the verbosity.
Enjoy

Versatility and Flexibility

Following fast on the heels of yesterdays DJ Sneak blog link, we have another, from a very different type of dj/producer, DJ Gilb'R, one half of Chateau Flight with I:Cube.

He has just done a promotional mix for Versatile records, which is as fantastic as you would expect from the guy who mixed Body Language 5, and who is also responsible for some heavyweight remixes for the likes of Poni Hoax and Atjazz. The Atjazz remix in particular is truly astonishing, and is one of my favourite ever songs. Its more of a song than a 'track', and that is to its great credit.

It's so good that i feel wrong posting it. It's on Beatport, go nuts.

However, i will post the link to the Versatile Records Blog page with the 2008 promotional mix by Gilb'R. Be sure to check out the rest of the blog as last time i checked there were mixes and remixes by all the regular Versatile guys, as well as Prins Thomas et al.

Hidden Jewels & Dachschund's

I'm currently enjoying the twin peaks of good boompty house music and its 'polar' opposite, crystalline electro pop that yearns with dark thoughts and deeper emotion. I just did a post on DJ Sneak and his club mixes, so now i turn my ever roving attention to a band called Nite Jewels, who i discovered just last week on the fabulous blog keytars and violins. They have a sweet sadness to them that i find helpful, especially when winter seems to be here already and autumn didnt seem to happen.
This song is called 'What Did He Say', and its really good.

I'd also like to add that i am exceptionally jealous of the artwork on the Keytars and Violins blog. It's really something else.

BONUS
I'm also going to post a remix of one of my favourite recent tracks, TG's (AKA Tim Green) 'Mr Dry'. The remix is by someone i've never heard of before, Dachschund, but his work on this track is very impressive. The 'Mr Dry remix EP' is out now on Trapez Records, and available via phonica and beatport
