Wobzin's Rave D'Amour

New mix i made yesterday. Gotta say that i love pretty much all the tracks on this mix. Heavy feel for Dubstep at the minute, so i couldn't resist dropping Rusko's 2NAQ after the long build from Danton Eeprom's remix of Grindhouse. Theres a few classics in there that still hold up over time such as, Rave D'Amour and Like A Pen. The Knife's, Like A Pen is one of the few tracks that sound awesome in a club and yet still you would comfortably enjoy sat in your living room. Enough bollocks.. heres the tracklist:

Booka Shade - Planetary
The Martin Brothers - Dum
DJ T - Rave D'Amou
Magic Johnson - Scanning For Viruses (Claude Vonstrokes Coffee On Your Motherboard)
Radio Slave - Grindhouse (Danton Eeprom Remix)
Rusko - 2 N A Q
Claude VonStroke - Who's Afraid of Detroit (Tanner Ross Remix)
SMD - Hustler (Joakim Remix)
The Knife - Like A Pen
Christian Martin - Elephant Fight (Justin Martins Jungle remix)
Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down (Duke Dumont Reconstruction)

Calming Disco Tunes & Pixie(s)

hey everyone, the blog is looking horribly sparse at the moment, so i thought id attempt to rectify that problem with a trio of new songs im enjoying at the moment as well as some general banter. All of these are good things, trust.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/1922107256bb1cd3/ Toby Tobias- A Close Shave (Prins Thomas Disko-Tek mix)

http://www.zshare.net/audio/19220466125aadd5/ Simon Baker- Plastik (Todd Terje' Turkatech mix)

Recently I've been mixing a lot of slower stuff, Terje and co. and also a lot of Innervisions, Ame and Dixon and above all Henrik Schwarz. I am now of the opinion that Henrik Schwarz is a genius. I'd heavily recommend Dixon's old Body Language mix (4?) and the Schwarz live album, both of which are available at www.phonicarecords.co.uk amongst other places. I started my most recent mix in this vein, which will be upped later today in a separate post.

Also i wanted to put up a bonus track by the Pixies, because my girlfriends pet rat who was called Pixie died last week and i was quite upset. No childhood pet deaths to soften the blow ysee. Anyway, you win from this situation because you get to listen to the Pixies greatest moment ever, again. Plus, Pixie was seriously the coolest rat ever, that dude from Ratatouille had nothin' on her.

Welcome to the Internet!

I got asked to post on the bbwi blog and i was all like:
'yeah man whatever'
so i am just gonna introduce myself, and say some of the generic garbage that you normally read in these kind of posts.  I dont really have a manifesto when it comes to music (my manifesto in life is 'any club you have to wear shoes to get into aint even worth petrol bombing') and i aint even really that fussed about genres or any of that bull, so i guess my posts will usually be a pastiche of completly divergent unrelated shit.

This week I've been heavily baning the first track on the Panthers album on my iPod, it rocks so fucking hard.  It makes me want to dress like I'm in the warriors and be involved in some form of car chase.

Anyway, you can legally get it here from vice records: Goblin City
(you can also listen to the whole album)

the pic is from a sweet site called Hel-Looks, it essentially involves photographs of cooly dressed scandinavians i thought these two fitted the bill for the panthers track. its worth checking out if you have a thing for well dressed scandinavian chicks.

Mercury Ist Retrograde

not in the mood for long writing based post
three tracks and a bonus. Not much dance music in my mood at the moment. Seems to be a bit of everything else though. Modest Mouse, Tom Vek, Bloc Party, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Billy Talent, Nirvana. I think i enjoy the slightly organised chaos that certain of these bands represent.

Bloc Party- Mercury (from the new album, Intimacy)

UNKLE- Hold My Hand (Innervisions Orchestra remix)(Offered as a free download via www.residentadvisor.net)

Led Zeppelin- Babe Im Gonna Leave You (from Led Zeppelin I)

Nirvana - Negative Creep (from their debut album, Bleach)

I've actually been listening to In Utero as opposed to Bleach in the last few days but the In Utero cd is in my car and Negative Creep fulfils the credentials well enough and is a beast.

Final point, be sure to check out the video for 'Mercury', as i think it ties in incredibly well with the song, and has an awesomely tweaked post apocalpytical theme with some kind of Minotaur in it. Did i mention the Minotaur has some kind of claw hand? No? Well it does.
