Big Boss Sez Make It Rain (In the Gunshine State)

Big Boss, Rick Ross.

He is the man. I've been meaning to do a bad ass Ricky Ross post for time but i kept listenin to tech house bangers and so it got forgotten. But i was in the mood for towering Rick Ross joints all day at work so i got in, had a burn with Ross and got in the mood in a big way.

Look at his monstrous gut and comical rick ross face medallion. He is one of a kind, and im consistently amazed by how fucking BAD he is at rapping. He is just not good. But he has cadence, swagger, and constant name checkin' down, so he's everywhere. And I for one am happy with this situation. He's just uplifting in a dumb kinda way, and because he's on Def Jam and makes big money he gets all the sickest beats around, which is of course something he reminds us of constantly.
I'm gonna post two Rick Ross tunes and a DJ Khaled presents... style remix of Fat Joe which is kind of old now but is still illy. Westwood played it last week haha.

'Money makes me come' featuring some Trina wannabee called Ebony Love is presumably the new single, and has an amazing beat. Probably the best track off his latest album, and possibly even the best since 'Hustlin''. Again played by Westwood last week. I'm pretty certain that without Rick Ross and Lil Wayne Westwoods show would last about fifteen minutes

'Shot to the Heart' uses an old 80s sample and sounds ridiculously cheesy the first time you hear it, but its so catchy, and the fact that it knows how cheesy it is makes it okay. Kind of a guilty pleasure though. I think it was off an old mixtape, most likely one of those Khaled or DJ Drama ones where the 'DJs' don't do anything other than shout their names over the start of the tracks.

The Fat Joe track is 'Make it Rain (remix)', which features a veritable roll call of rappers, including R Kelly (who isnt really a rapper but he sings the hook, kinda like T Pains seedy uncle), Fat Joe (obviously), Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., DJ Khaled yelling a lot, Baby AKA Birdman AKA Lil Wayne's 'Daddy', and some random called Ace Mack. Its so good. Particularly of note are the *constant* references to the Rihanna song Umbrella, which came out like a month before this track.

This is the track that made me realise how fucking amazing Lil Wayne is, and how comically ahead of almost EVERYONE he is. His verse is just phenomenal. I'm seriously running out of adjectives to describe this guy.

'Its young money and we on like the television, the weather channel, but i do not broadcast, i throw up more cash, and change the forecast. Your boyfriend is lame, i make it rain on ya', he never make it rain, like southern california, wheres your umbrella, now get ya rain coat, baby i make it flood, now you gown need a boat'

Obviously it flows better in verse than on the page, so check it out. More Lil' Wayne soon, seeing as he gave the blog its name he deserves his props.

WEEZY F
